Review by hotel critic
During my recent city break in Bhubaneswar, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Kalinga Ashok, a quaint yet comfortable property that blends traditional Odisha charm with modern amenities. Nestled in the heart of the City of Temples, the hotel's strategic location provides easy access not just to markets and transportation, but also to must-visit cultural sites like the Lingaraj Temple and the majestic Shanti Stupa. What stood out the most during my stay was the lovely cordiality and helpfulness of the staff, who managed to enhance our experience significantly. Their attentiveness was matched by the delightful on-site restaurant, Phulbani, which offered a diverse menu that catered to our adventurous palates-featuring scrumptious local and Mughlai delicacies. Though the outer exterior of the hotel didn't entirely match the pictures, and the parking area seemed a bit worn out, the spacious, air-conditioned room made for a cozy retreat after our daily excursions. I appreciated the value for money, especially with free airport pick-up and WiFi enhancing our overall experience. For additional convenience, the hotel's housekeeping and room service met our needs perfectly, allowing us to focus on our explorations rather than logistics. Whether you're a solo traveler or, as I often am, accompanied by fellow enthusiasts, Hotel Kalinga Ashok offers a gracious blend of tradition and modern living, making it a commendable choice for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Odisha's rich heritage.
